Bakelite is a thermosetting plastic based on phenolic resin. A thermally stable phenolic plastic material. Bakelite molded parts are made by pressing and curing a mixture of phenolic resin and filler in a heated mold. After cooling and curing, the plastic is resistant to mechanical influences, heat and acids.
