The new design of the tachometer drive is a replacement for the original gear set stored in the right engine cover (from the ignition).
The Bowden cable runs to the front of the handlebars, where the speedometer is mounted, and bends when cornering. Thanks to this new design, there is no need to change the gearing when changing the chainring.
