The SKF piston pin connecting rod needle cage replaces the 2x7.8 needles used on the original connecting rods. When installing the cage instead of the pins, the piston pin inserts are no longer installed. The needle cage is used on new connecting rods and does not shorten the life of the connecting rod. In addition, it facilitates the assembly of the piston.
