The AEV 0505 ignition unit is designed for SIMSON S51, SR50, S83, KR51 / 2 motorcycles and other models that have been fitted with contactless ignition. It is a direct replacement for the ignition unit that SIMSON small motorcycles were fitted by their manufacturer. The actual assembly on the motorcycle and connection to the electrical installation therefore corresponds to the state according to the motorcycle manufacturer. The unit is characterized by a very robust construction, which used knowledge from the operation of both the original units and the entire spectrum of their replicas and the causes of their failure. The unit is resistant to damage due to fault conditions, especially in the circuit of the magnet's charging coil. Due to the fact that the ignition is independent of the rest of the motorcycle installation, it is not necessary to follow whether it is a 6V or 12V variant.
